Novak Djokovic is about to become the first sportsman ever to be banned from a competition for not using drugs…
At least it shines a light on Australia’s ridiculous draconian approach to abuse it’s population and visitors.
apr 20, 2020. novak djokovic sparks a backlash after publicly opposing the covid-19 vaccine.
he says: “personally, i am opposed to vaccination, and i wouldn’t want to be forced by someone to take a vaccine in order to be able to travel.”.
asked by sky news australia anchor danica de giorgio why djokovic was granted the visa in the first place, the home affairs minister said: “they’re entirely separate processes”.. “to gain entry to australia you need both – you actually need the visa, which is determined quite separately, and then you have to meet the entry requirements,” she said.. “i know that people are putting the two issues together, but the visa application process and the granting of a visa is very separate to the additional entry requirements that every traveller needs to meet to be able to enter australia.”.

imagine boarding a bus with your family for a long anticipated vacation.
the destination is a place that is promised to be beautiful warm and sunny.
as you are boarding the bus you are given a ticket stub with several paragraph's of fine print.
Stuck! I was with you on that same bus. Glad we got off at the same stop.
we hear how the economy is much healthier now.
are you better off than you were before, or the same or worse?

From the time Obama was elected the market (s&p 500) went on to lose 33% of its value into his first year. In his first four years it still had not recovered. It took 6 years to get back to 2007 levels, mainly based on propped up fed policies previously put in place prior to him taking office.
Anyone invested in equity markets during the entire tenure of Obama had to wait 6 years to get back what they lost. In the mean time anyone retiring during this period relying on fixed income saw yields deteriorate faster than any administration in history to levels that drastically cut normalized expected interest payments by 80% or worse. Thanks Obama and Janet. Technically, counting inflation and lost wages and home values, even after 6 years of Obama’s fiscal piggybacking the average joe was still behind, and don’t even get started on the actual demographics who put him in office but never had any exposure to financial markets to begin with.
Their unemployment and wage growth didn’t see a recovery until Trump. Them the facts and hard numbers. Sorry to those that can’t do math. As for the few that got to participate in the Feds’ synthetic QE2 and unprecedented ridiculous rate reductions never before seen in any admin before 44, congrats! You had 1 year of finally getting a little more back than you lost in first 6 years of Obama and another yeah of flat returns. But probably not even that lucky if you include your home value and wage growth. If you want to call recouping your losses and a little more for a year so (excluding your real estate devaluations still far off peak to this day)- growth ... then you really really have some serious math deficiencies.
The point is, 6 years to break even is nothing to cheerlead about. Retirees have to take substantial more risk to get desired income and yields. For the first time since Obama was even a known name the Fed tried to get real yields higher. Unfortunately the globally controlled swamp would have none of it. The game is played by the Fed and presidents are simply cheerleaders, sometimes wanna be coaches. Hopefully those who have been invested through the real market growth and gains since Trump , locked in profits going into this election year. Every year of his growth was at least real growth and not recouping losses like Obama.
isn't trump shooting himself in the foot when he is on the verge of (or already in) a trade war with china?
isn't walmart like 95% chinese stuff?.
won't there be a backlash when many of his supporters that want to upgrade to indoor plumbing see how much it costs with all the tariffs?
The best thing for the world is for China to be decimated economically.
They don't play fair, they don't respect IP or international laws, currency markets, labor laws, basic freedoms and human rights, they pollute like crazy and they want to eat every endangered animal on the planet, torturing the ones that aren't endangered.
Everything made in China can and should be made locally (apart from Fentanyl ... that shit doesn't need to be made and China shipping enough over to kill millions is an act of war). It would be better from a macro economic perspective and environmentally to have more manufacturing closer to consumers.
Only people who hate the environment and ethics oppose what Trump is doing. Which means everyone on the left
This is the real key observation.
Prior to leaving the JWs I went back to university and completed my degree in economics (did this as an elder - had support at the district level [Cali - bay area everyone gets to go to uni with no repercussions - only the small congos outside the metro areas adhere to the no higher education rules] local small congo level, not so much but had a little extra $ and pretty much paid for the whole hall remodel myself I got a pass.) - but neither here nor there - In the years since I've gone on to complete my Masters and pretty much moved on but love how this board has evolved to include real life/world issues. Thank you Simon.
The short game is all the left cares about - bail-outs galore. From GW to Obama. The pressure for cheap crap to fulfill the materialistic feelz the millennials crave. (Anybody else kinda disappointed the JWs let these spoiled brats take the JW mascot? I'm actually guessing the GB and other borg higher-ups like that the term "millennial" doesn't bring up their bat-shit crazy origins in a google search first page like it used to.)
It's more than cheap crap though. It's everything Simon pointed out. It simply is not a fair playing field. The fact the US corporations put up with it and allow China to steal their tech is f'n crazy. The long game needs somebody like Trump - someone with the cajones to take a stand. This is why even capitalist purists like Kudlow can support it.
But it's not just about protecting capitalism -it is about the western values that a supposed democratic society would want to support. The cognitive dissonance on the left is strong this time - On the one hand you have them unitedly supporting the Hong Kong rebellion (more like silently - not a lot of tweets from American left MSM/celebrities here), but in the same breath they hate Trump so much they support China's bullying their own country, just because their crazy candidate lost the election (who definitely would not have stood up to China).
So thanks again Simon. Absolutely astute observation. And to anyone that is trying to blame Trump if their crap they buy at Walmart starts to go up, c'mon, you're smarter than that.
this is the announcement we have heard “about” but now it has been released to the whole world.
its in the 2nd of a three part serries about the jw annual meeting (oct 2018).
to minute 52. .
I'm guessing current JWs in Russia probably don't feel this is helpful.
so that other thread was fun but now i need some help with something.
i was born in the truth most of my family is in.
although they aren't outwardly super spiritual i doubt any of them would ever leave.
good or bad?
how did/has the wtbts affected your social skills, social development, and/or how you interact with other people?
i have many questions about different social skills that i will ask either after other people post to this thread or to keep this thread active.
How Did/Has the WTBTS Affected Your Social Skills?
It's really easy and habitual for me to go up to complete strangers and tell them their beliefs are stupid and will lead to their death shortly if they don't start thinking like me.
I prefer to do this when people are
a) relaxing or sleeping in on the weekends
b) in the middle of yardwork or making a living from home
c) running out the door to do something important, like getting their kids to school
d) walking around their home in their underwear or birthday suit not expecting anyone to show up
Since I was not only taught the above was normal and started doing it from the time I was 4 or 5, I'm pretty sure people find my social skills quite admirable. However, for some reason I don't have many friends - go figure. All I do is tell people what they believe is retarded. I don't see why I'm not really popular.

I post here for the benefit of the lurkers that read these threads
LOL - I'm sure they appreciate how little you think of them. What must it be like to be in your congregation? if you speak anything like you post I bet you have lots of friends. People must just gravitate to your attractive Christian personality - and you're so smart too. People love really really smart people. You must be so fun! Sad thing is, it's so obvious that you hate that you're not an elder. I almost feel sorry for you... almost.
do they both lead people away from god?.
SBC - I'm tired of you reading my mind, lol.
Actually, I personally don't have time to "counter, criticize and expose by rational argument" because it's almost always a waste of time and pretty boring as well. However, if that's the definition of militant and people cannot see the difference between the 'militant athiests' and the fundies, then there's nothing left to say here.
My style is to embrace tolerance. I may not understand everything that all the different religious and spiritual women are saying to me but I don't care - no one knows what it means - it's provocative - gets people going:
do they both lead people away from god?.
Wow I check in Monday night while commercials on Conan Obrien are playing to see what I missed this weekend. Can't believe i skipped out spending my weekend on this exciting thread.
I tell you one thing, if there's one thing I learn on threads like these, it's that I hope my lovers will spend half as much time thinking about me and how awesome I am like the Jesusites here do to their Lord. Thousands and thousands of posts, and long thought out attention given to someone that won't even send you a text here and there - hope he's at least keeping your weekends filled with exciting adventures.
